Behind the Scenes
at Skyline
What to Expect:
We are excited to have you join us for a behind the scenes tour of the Skyline operations. To help facilitate the tour, there are a few details all visitors need to be aware of. The City and County of Honolulu buildings, where the trains are located and maintained is a private facility that is not open to the public. These tours are designed for adults 18 years of age and older, and occur Monday - Friday office hours.
All visitors’ names must be provided to Hitachi Rail Honolulu at least 48 working hours before the visit. Parking on property is free, and bathroom facilities are available. Upon entry of the Operations Servicing Building, all guests are required to sign a visitor release form, and a safety briefing will be provided.
On a typical 2-hour tour, guests visit both the Operations and Control Center (OCC) and the Shop. The OCC is where the trains are operated, monitored and controlled. The Shop area is where the trains are maintained, and this location requires all individuals to wear long pants and personal protective equipment which will be provided by Hitachi Rail Honolulu for the duration of the tour.
